Brooklyn indie rock band DIIV have released their second artist album Is the Is Are. The expansive 17-track LP only comes with one feature from Sky Ferreira, who is dating band frontman Zachary Cole Smith.

The LP was originally made available to stream last week on The Guardian, but is now available on your favorite portal to listen and download at your leisure.

This is the group's follow up to their 2012 debut Oshin. It takes the elements established in that record and builds on it with more complex writing and effective guitar solos.

At times it can feel a little self-indulgent, but there is enough there from the heavily reverbed electric guitar and muddled and distant vocals from Smith to help carry the LP from start to finish. Ferreira's vocal on "Blue Boredom" helps break up the boredom that can come with hearing the same voice for 17 tracks in a row.

The LP starts out with familiar tracks like "Out of Mind" and "Dopamine," which have been popular singles from the band in the lead up to the album's release, but then fans will get to dig into the later cuts like "Loose Ends" and "(Napa)" as they listen to the full LP.

The LP eventually ends on the most hypnotic track of the expansive project "Waste of Breath" with its repetitive guitar licks and distant vocal shouts.
