Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich recently revealed that Taylor Swift had prior knowledge of a controversial lyric aimed at the “Style” singer on Kanye West’s “Famous.” Shortly thereafter, Ehrlich issued a statement retracting his previous assertion.

According to PerezHilton, Ehrlich claimed to have misinterpreted things Swift said about West’s song from his latest album, The Life of Pablo.

"Regarding my statement at the Grammys about Taylor, I misunderstood what she had told me,” Ehrlich said. “Under the pressure of rehearsals, rather than say that she was aware of the song, I said she had heard a track when in fact she had not and and what she said to me didn't imply that at all."

On the aforementioned track, West raps, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b*tch famous.”

Once the track made its way to the Internet, West received a slew of backlash. He responded on Twitter and revealed that he received Swift’s approval for the lyric, which was actually her idea. Her reps later denied that Swift had prior knowledge of the actual lyric and cautioned West about “releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.”

As previously reported, Ehrlich told Entertainment Tonight that Swift did in fact know of the lyric.

“She came in a couple of weeks ago and she had an advance of the track, so she commented on it in a very funny way,” he said. “She’s smart.”

Swift seemingly addressed the situation during her acceptance speech for Album of the Year at the Grammys. West has not commented on the ordeal but sent his best regards to Swift.

The two patched up their tremulous relationship when Swift presented West with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award at the 2015 MTV VMAs. They had their first jaw dropping encounter at the awards show back in 2009.
