"I think we created enough chances to score," Liverpool goalie Simon Mignolet said, according to UEFA.com. "Unfortunately the end product didn't happen. It's difficult to create chances [against German teams], but then the small chances you get, you need to capitalize on."
Mignolet's teammate, defender Alberto Moreno, spoke about the importance of playing this game at home today.
"Of course the atmosphere at Anfield is going to be important," he said. "We'll have our fans behind us for the 90 minutes. They're going to be key, so we can go out focused and make sure that we win."
Meanwhile, Augsburg manager Markus Weinzierl isn't shy about his concerns today.
"I would have preferred to play against Liverpool six weeks ago," he said, referring to his opponents' recent injury troubles, according to ThisIsAnfield.com. "They are getting better each week and injured players are coming back. With these players Liverpool is a much better team with high quality. We are expecting a very good opponent, who has the ambition to win this competition. So the roles are clear."
