Harry Styles and the other remaining members of One Direction have to prepare for a career outside of the boy band, and it looks like the ex-boyfriend of Kendall Jenner is venturing outside of the music world. Director Christopher Nolan (Interstellar, The Dark Knight, The Prestige) has reportedly offered Styles a role in his highly anticipated new movie, Dunkirk. The World War II drama has an already impressive cast consisting of Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh, but we know that Directioners all over the world will hit theaters to see Styles' big screen debut.

Dunbkirk is based on the true story of a WWII military operation called Operation Dynamo, which saved the lives of 335,000 Allied soldiers that were trapped in the Dunkirk seaport surrounded by Nazi soldiers. About 800 Allied boats rushed in after little preparation, according to the original report from Variety.

This mission was widely celebrated and included one of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill's spirited speeches to Parliament.

"We shall fight on beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills," the historical figure said at the time. "We shall never surrender."

We don't have any more information aside from the casting news, but we can certainly expect a lot from this film. Nolan's films have anticipation built around them before they've even been announced. Also, we're sure that the filmmaker cast Harry Styles for more reason than his boy band star appeal. It'll certainly be interesting to see him in the film, but we're expecting a great acting debut from the heartthrob.

Fionn Whitehead was also cast in Dunkirk.

As Consequence of Sound points out, casting a boy band singer in a film has worked out very well in the past. Ever hear of Justin Timberlake?
