Hunter Hayes - Hunter Hayes
When Hunter Hayes performed "Tattoo" on the 2014 CMT Music Awards, it was a sure-fire indicator that it would probably be his next single. Now, a little over a week later, it's hitting radio and bringing with it some bad advice on getting a tattoo.

The song, his second single release from Storyline, is one he co-wrote and it's delivering some advice that any tattoo artist will tell you isn't great ...

In the song, he sings -

Ink it in on my skin, sign me up, make it last against the time
Cause this is more than a picture that fades of a first date Friday night
It's unerasable, unmistakable, hey, everybody wants to know
Now I think I know, I'll wear it on my sleeve, I gotta let it show
Making a promise that I never wanna let you go

While the lyrics could be just a fairy tale spin, in his behind the song video, he goes on record saying -

"To me it was like the permanent factor of a tattoo is very similiar the permanent feeling of when you really find somebody that you want to ... I don't know, there's something about ... and especially, when you write somebody's name in on a tattoo, you've made a decision and you've made a decision, hopefully, based on a gut feeling that's real and deep."

So even though it is a super romantic notion to start dating someone, feel yourself falling in love and run out and get their name inked forever onto your body (the "awweee" factor that someone would do that is off the charts), the common-sense side of your brain should be screaming "Danger! Red Alert!"

According to Jennifer Baker of the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri, the divorce rate in America is far beyond a little high. 50% percent of first marriages, 67% of second and 74% of third marriages end in divorce. And that is marriage folks - the whole walk down the aisle, vowing to stay together "till death do us part" event. Whether you're married or not, think back to the first guy/gal you really gave your heart to. Are you still together? Chances are pretty good that the answer to that question is "no." Now imagine spending the rest of your life with that person's name written somewhere on your body. You would see it every single day as would anyone else you entered into a relationship with. (That "awweee" factor just lost a couple of letters didn't it?)

Granted, "Your name would make a good Sharpie tattoo" doesn't quite have the same ring to it, but at least a Sharpie can be washed off if it needs to be!
