Just about a week before the April 1, 2016, release of Amen & Goodbye, the latest album from Yeasayer via Mute Records, the Brooklyn experimental indie rockers have shared a brand new song, "Gerson's Whistle." This multi-layered track stretches just over 5 minutes in length, but features examples of the band's ability to evolve past their already impressively unique sound. Listen to this new song below.

I understand that I mentioned the length of the song almost right away, but like most Yeasayer tracks, "Gerson's Whistle" flows so well that the time that passes doesn't affect you. The driving beat behind the melodic over- and undertones will have you zoning out and bouncing your head.

It's catchy too. You really get a sense that Yeasayer has plenty of crossover potential, but they're probably past that point of their career. "Gerson's Whistle" is one of the most enjoyable songs I've heard in 2016, and it could hold that place in my mind for the remainder of the year.

Thanks to this song, we're starting to believe that this new album will make a number of "best of" lists in 2016. I know that I'm excited for this release, are you? Let us know what you think of this song and the upcoming album from Yeasayer in the comments section below.
