This is not a drill. Frank Ocean's album will be released on Friday. According to a new report by The New York Times, who cite an anonymous source, the Channel Orange singer will release Boys Don't Cry as an Apple Music exclusive.

In addition to the new album, Ocean will also release a major video and printed publication called Boys Don't Cry that will be distributed at Apple stores. It isn't clear in what Apple stores the magazine that Frank Ocean has teased in the past will be released.

The album will remain an exclusive with Apple for two weeks before being made public on other platforms.

This is the latest major release scooped up by Apple in the streaming exclusive war that has been waged by Apple Music and TIDAL. Drake, Future, The 1975 and Chance The Rapper have all lent their music to Apple Music in the past few months as limited time exclusives on their music.

Earlier today, fans started to sense that something was up with the Frank Ocean camp. July came and went without an album after promises that an album would appear during the month of July and written library due date slips on his website teasing a release date. However earlier today he uploaded a live stream to his website that was just a loop, but hinted that there was a light at the end of the tunnel in the source code and the various art installation pieces.

Frank, if this turns out to be one final hoax, everyone may just have to give up on you. There are only so many pieces hearts can break into before they become unfixable.

Boys Don't Cry will be Frank's first album since 2012's Grammy award winning Channel Orange.
