Justin Bieber threatened his fans with making his Instagram account private if they don't stop bashing his rumored girlfriend, Sofia Richie, the daughter of music legend Lionel Richie. Selena Gomez then replied to Bieber's post to comment on the issue.
The dating rumors surrounding Bieber and Sofia started last week after the latter began appearing in the "Love Yourself" singer's Instagram photos. According to E! Online, the two are currently in Japan for Bieber's Purpose World Tour.
After seeing Sofia with Bieber, some of the pop star's fans didn't take too kindly to the closeness of the two. Some them made disrespectful comments about her while others said that Bieber should get back together with Gomez, his ex-girlfriend.
Due to the hurtful comments made by some of his followers, Bieber decided to stand up for Sofia by warning them. According to the singer, he would turn his account private if they don't stop posting negative comments.
"I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people I like," Bieber wrote in caption for a photo of him and Sofia inside a car.

A few moments later, Gomez replied to Bieber's post, Daily Mail reported. She said that he should be nice to his fans and told him that if he can't handle the criticisms, then he should stop sharing photos featuring Sofia, who the "Kill Em With Kindness" singer referred to as his girlfriend.
"If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol," she posted. "It should be special between you two only."
