Kaskade and deadmau5 have collaborated three times over the years, but until very recently, not since their 2008 song "I Remember." In October, Kaskade went ahead and released their collaboration "Beneath With Me" featuring Skylar Grey along with a music video. Mau5 wasn't all that happy at the time and now they have released an alternative version - what is being dubbed "v.4."

The updated version of "Beneath With Me" is an improved and chilled out rendition of the song. The original mix that was released had a gritty electro drop, but that is left out in favor of more soothing synths and softer bass that is much less jarring and keeps the flow of the song in tact.

Skylar Grey's airy vocals are a better fit throughout the song, not just in the breaks.

This feels like what the song was meant to be.

Kaskade seems to agree with that sentiment and there appear to be no complaints from the Canadian producer.

It also always could have been part of the plan to release two versions - one as more of a festival / club mix and one that is more of a downtempo version that is suited for listening at home. Like Kaskade's seventh studio album Fire & Ice, the first version they released was the Fire mix and this is the Ice.

The music video remains the same, but now has been given a black and white treatment. It is worth checking out again.

Pick up a copy of the new collaboration here and add it to the collection of great tracks between these two.
