Juelz Santana recently pleaded not guilty to drug and gun charges stemming from an incident at the Newark Airport last week. The rapper is expected to appear in court on April 9.

Last week, Santana made headlines after authorities revealed that they found a loaded .38-caliber handgun in his carry-on bag. Airport personnel also said that they found oxycodone pills that Santana did not have prescription for.

After learning that his carry-on bag has been confiscated, Santana allegedly fled the scene. The rapper left his two bags behind. A day later, Santana turned himself in to the authorities.

While investigation is still ongoing, Santana is required to stay in jail. As of late, the rapper and his rep have not yet released a statement regarding the incident.

Juelz Santana Talks About His New Music

Last year, Santana sat down for an interview with Complex and talked about his new music. He said that he has noticed several young rappers using his name in their rap songs, and he wants to take advantage of the opportunity moving forward.

"At the end of the day, they're part of the new generation. We're all here to be used but when you start misusing and getting carried away with that, is when ya might get checked, ya know," said Santana.

During the same interview, Santana talked about Dipset or The Diplomats and said that his motivation to bring the group together may pay off soon.

"It's a brotherhood because I think other people in that situation when they see each other it would come to a lot more than if Jim Jones and Cam'ron seen each other right now. They would probably end up laughing and giving each other a hug or something," said Santana.
