Lana Del Rey is undoubtedly one of the most controversial pop stars in the business, so any interview she gives is almost guaranteed to become headline news. She recently gave an interview to Complex; this is what we learned after reading it.

1. She prefers New York City to Los Angeles

Despite writing a song called "West Coast" for her latest album, Lana Del Rey prefers being in New York to California. Speaking about Brooklyn, she said, "All artist types -- writing during the day and hanging out at bars at night. I miss that, I like that. I haven't really found that in California yet. I relocated there because my record got a little bigger, but I didn't really find a music scene that I was part of."

2. She's only interested in "physical love"

This one should be obvious to anyone who's heard Ultraviolence. "I like a tangible, passionate love," she said. "For me, if it isn't physical, I'm not interested."

3. She may have had a relationship with The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach...

Not to start any rumors, but after discussing her romantic preferences, the interviewer asks Del Rey about the last person to make her feel that way. Her response? "Dan Auerbach, for better or for worse."

4. She prefers outdoor festivals to indoor shows

Not necessarily for atmosphere, but because she's a chain smoker. "...45 minutes into the set, when you've still got 45 minutes to go, you need to smoke."

5. She's slept with a lot of guys in the industry

In reference to her controversial song "F**ked My Way Up To The Top," Del Rey admits, "I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me get my record deals. Which is annoying."

6. The best penne alla vodka is in Los Angeles, not New York

When asked about the best red sauce in the world, she replies, "I go to the same place in Los Angeles all the time, Ago on Melrose. I order the same thing every time, penne all vodka," making her the only New Yorker to ever admit that L.A. has good Italian food.

7. Her career hasn't gone well

After lamenting the fact that "things haven't gone well," the interviewer reminds her of her platinum records, to which she replies, "Yeah, but I still don't find that community of people I was looking for, like the way Bob Dylan found his friends, or the respect of being a writer."
