Moby plans to sell over 100 pieces of music equipment via his new Reverb.com shop. The profit from the sales will be donated to his chosen charity.

During the launch of his new online shop, Moby said that all of the equipment he will be selling was used to make all of his previous records. All of his music gear has sentimental value, but he decided to sell them anyway to help other people.

Moby has chosen the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine as his beneficiary. The organization is on a mission to dramatically change the way doctors treat chronic illnesses such as diabetes, obesity, cancer, and heart disease.

Some of Moby's items for sale include his synthesizers from the 1980s, his Yamaha SY22 Vector synthesizer, which he used to record the 1991 single "Go," his assorted bass and electric guitars, costume pieces from his "The Perfect Life" music video, and more.

"Every penny that's generated goes to charity. I don't get to keep any of it. I don't get to keep the equipment, and I don't get to keep even one cent of the money generated by it," said Moby.

Moby Donates To Animal Rights Organizations

This is not the first time that Moby donated money for a cause that is close to his heart. Last year, the 52-year-old American musician also gave $250,000 to various animal rights organizations as part of Giving Tuesday.

Moby is known for championing animal rights since he started his career several years ago. In 1996, he even released an album called Animal Rights.

The musician also partnered with Little Pine restaurant for the cause. Moby owns 100 percent of the vegan bistro operating in Los Angeles.
