Three years after Kintsugi, the alternative rock band Death Cab For Cutie returns with a new album due this August.

The Washington-born musicians led by frontman and lyricist Benjamin Gibbard released a teaser trailer on YouTube on Tuesday, May 1.

Next Phase Of Death Cab For Cutie

The band also gave fans a preview of what the next album — their ninth! — will sound like.

"I dreamt we spoke, I dreamt we spoke again," Gibbard crooned.

The still-untitled next album will be the first without founding member, guitarist, and producer Chris Walla. While the musician announced he will be leaving the band after more than a decade in 2014, he was still involved and contributed guitar and electronic collage to 2015's Kintsugi.

According to the press release, the band just recently finished recording the album. It will also be their first recording that features long-time members Gibbard, Nick Harmer, and Jason McGerr with newcomers Dave Depper and Zac Rae.

Depper previously played with Fruit Bats and Ray Lamontagne while Rae performed with Fiona Apple and Lana Del Rey.

Death Cab For Cutie also released their first official photo for their next album.

North America Tour

In addition, Gibbard and the band announced massive North American tour starting in September at the Life is Beautiful Music & Art Festival in Las Vegas.

Presale tickets will be available on Wednesday, May 2, at 10 a.m. General ticket sales will begin on Friday, May 4, at 10 a.m. local time.

Death Cab For Cutie vows to donate one dollar from every ticket purchase to The Aurora Commons, a non-profit organization based in Seattle that helps offer a safe space to the homeless by providing a place to rest, meals, and other resources.

This is in line to the band's recent announcement that their gigs will be a "safe place" to fans in the age of post-Trump hatred.

"Death Cab For Cutie shows will always be a safe place for people of all colors, all genders, all sexual orientations, and all beliefs to come together to celebrate music, love, and mutual respect," the band said in a statement on Twitter.

The band campaigned against Donald Trump in 2016 by participating in the "30 Days, 30 Songs" project and releasing the track "Million Dollar Loan."
