Walker Hayes reveals losing his seventh child just days before the baby's due date. The country musician shared the news via his Twitter account.
Hayes and his wife were expecting a baby girl, and she was due for delivery on June 8.
"It is with great sadness that Laney and I share with you the news that our sweet Oakleigh Klover Hayes was born this morning at the hospital and now is safely in heaven. Thank you for honoring our privacy as we grieve," tweeted Hayes on Thursday, June 7.
The "You Broke Up With Me" crooner confirmed his wife's pregnancy in November. Hayes also said that his six older children are very excited about the new addition to their family.
Walker Hayes, Laney Hayes Relationship
During last year's interview, Hayes also revealed that he and his wife are hoping for a home birth. Hayes and his spouse grew up together and began dating when they were just in junior high school. Earlier this year, the musician gushed over their open line of communication.
Hayes said that he and Laney could talk about everything for very long hours. Just two months ago, the couple attended the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.
The singer has canceled all of his upcoming appearances to be with his wife and six children. The singer's last public appearance was at Craig Campbell's 6th Annual Celebrity Cornhole Challenge in Nashville on Tuesday, June 5.
In the statement, Hayes' team also asked fans and the press to respect the singer's privacy, as well as the privacy of his entire family. Hayes was scheduled to perform at the Country Jam Ranch and Campgrounds from June 14 to 17.
He previously confirmed his attendance at the Country USA Music Festival from June 19 to 23. On June 22, Hayes was supposed to take the stage at the Kenza Hall. From June 20 to 22, Hayes was scheduled to perform at the Faster Horses Festival.
Walker Hayes' Six Children
Hayes has a very close relationship with his six children. Three of them are boys, and the other three are girls. In December, the doting dad said that all six kids are supportive of his rising music career. He also said that the six youngsters look at him as if he is Adam Levine. Hayes said that his children's support means the world to him.
"They are my favorite things about life. I love each and every one of these kids and I can't wait for another one," said Hayes.
