Seattle alt-pop group Fences have teamed with fellow Seattleites, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis for their lead single "Arrows," which debuts tomorrow.

As Billboard notes, the band already has an established underground following, and this collaboration could help propel them into the Hot 100.

Fences frontman, Christopher Mansfield, and Macklemore met while gigging around Seattle. Mansfield later co-wrote the song "10,000 Hours" off Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' 2012 album, The Heist.

"Fences is a good friend," Macklemore told Billboard. "He's fu---d up in the same way that I'm f----d up. Because of that, our lives relate beyond the music. I've always admired his talent for illustrating with words and evoking imagery. We've made a bunch of stuff together over the years and this here song about Arrows is my favorite one we've done."

Mansfield also spoke about his friendship with Macklemore saying, "We have the kind of relationship where we call each other and the answer is always just, sure, whatever you need," he said. Once Macklemore was one board for the song, he knew Lewis was the obvious choice for production. "He was by far the best person to wrap it up and put the bow on it."

Mansfield explained that the theme of the song is largely about letting go of control and searching for your identity, and that's part of the reason he wanted Macklemore on the track.

"He speaks his mind about the fact that he doesn't always feel like he has control over his story," Mansfield told them. "But he also understands that sometimes, it's okay to go with it."

Fences is gearing up to release a new album in October 14 via their new label Atlantic's Elektra Records. The album will be available for pre-order tomorrow and includes downloads of "Arrows" and "Songs About Angels."
