Ericka Barrier, the daughter of hip-hop legend Eric B., was involved in a car accident, according to her father himself. Due to the accident, the hip-hop legend's family is now on rough times according to hip hop news website Hip Hop Wired. The day after she was treated in a hospital, she was declared dead according to an article from The Source. She was 28 years old.

The Accident

The 28-year-old daughter of Eric B., was said to have been driving her own vehicle when an 18-wheeler truck hit it and rolled over. She suffered from a broken neck and spine injuries. The accident happened March 16 in a highway in Connecticut according to therealsister2sister2.0 posted on Instagram.

The police said that the accident happened on 1 A.M EST, and she was driving a Mini Countryman car when the accident happened. The truck driver was not hurt, and the police are now investigating the incident. The police said that the truck overtook the lane where Barrier is at and slammed the rear part of her car according to an article from HollywoodLife.

Alvina Alston, Eric B's publicist, call for prayers for the family. Erica has no social media account, and Eric B. himself does not want to talk about the incident right now.

Eric B, Hip Hop Legend

Eric B. is the screen name of rapper, actor, and producer Eric Louie Barrier, hence his nickname. Barrier is known for his albums like Follow the Leader and Paid in Full. He is accompanied by his friend and fellow rapper Rakim.

The two formed a duo named Eric B and Rakim, and they are based in Long Island, New York. Eric B. was born on November 8, 1968 in Queens. He was also a subject of controversy when he was arrested after a warrant was issued 17 years ago, but he avoided jail and was put on probation; the case was an alleged assault according to the article from the Rolling Stone.

In Connecticut, where the accident involving Eric B's daughter happened, there was 14% drop in car accident deaths. Lorraine M. Martin, NSC President and CEO, said that although they praised the government's efforts to lower car accidents, the number is still unacceptable.

"Thirty-eight thousand deaths is still unacceptable, even if it is fewer than in years past," she said.

Hollywood also received a lot of deaths on the road by actors or their loved ones. Some of the most famous celebrities who died on road mishaps are actors James Dean and Paul Walker, who both died while driving on a race track. In the music industry, one of the most famous girl groups in the 2000's, TLC, lost a member, Lisa Lopes, when she died in Central American country of Honduras due to a road accident.
