Country singer Kelsea Ballerini did two things this week. She released her new album while practicing social distancing amid the recent pandemic. Ballerini dropped her self-titled album, and we mean, quite literally.

Album "Drop"

Ballerini resorted to social media to interact with her fans, at a time when social distancing is widely implemented. As a way to promote her new album, she turned to her Facebook account and gave her fans a 45-minute live performance.

After her Facebook Live, Ballerini uploaded another video on YouTube. The singer used a drone to deliver copies of her album to her fans waiting outside. The short clip showed aerial shots of her fans received the air-dropped album with a note from Ballerini herself.

The album consists of 13 songs including her hit single "Homecoming Queen." Other songs include collaborations with fellow artists Kenny Chesney and pop star Halsey in separate singles, according to a report from CBS Tennessee station WVLT.

The pandemic has forced Ballerini to cancel their promotional events, including some guesting. "We spent so much time trying to plan the biggest release for the album as possible," Ballerini said.

About Ballerini

Ballerini is the only female country singer to reach no. 1 with her first three consecutive singles in her debut album, "The First Time." Aside from this, she got her fifth No.1 in four years with her platinum record "Miss Me More." She is now the youngest member of the Grand Ole Opry, the group for country music elites. Her second album Unapologetically was her second album to debut on Top 5 in the Billboard Top 200. She has also won two Grammy Awards, two ACM Awards, and iHeartRadio Music Awards' Best New Artist winner in 2017.

Ballerini was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year in the CMA Awards 2019; Female Artist Country in American Music Awards 2019; and this year's Academy of Country Music Award for Female Artist of the Year.
