Corey Taylor, the vocalist of Slipknot, is auctioning his 13 personal guitar collection to raise money to fight COVID-19.

The auction is now on eBay, and the sales are being made, live, until May 7 at 7 PM Eastern Time. Proceeds will be given to Direct Relief's COVID-19 response efforts.

Some of in auction are Taylor's gold metallic Gibson Memphis Dave Grohl DG-335, which is said to be one of just 400 kinds of the guitar in the world, a Gold Top Gibson Classic Les Paul, Fender Acoustic, pearl blue Gibson Dave Grohl Signature #87, a black SDGR class, among others. Every guitar in the auction comes with a case and certificate of authenticity, and all with Taylor's signature.

eBay will also donate a million to the Direct Relief's efforts in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Direct Relief is a non-profit organization that aids the delivery of personal protective equipment and other essential materials that the medical frontliners need.

Slipknot released their most recent album, "We Are Not Your Kind" last August 2019. In March, they canceled their Asian Tour due to the pandemic. Their other tour, however, in Syracuse, New York, titled Knotfest Roadshow, is still scheduled to launch on May 30.

Corey Taylor's Life

Taylor is the vocalist of bands Slipknot and Stone Sour. He was born on Dec. 8, 1973, in Des Moines, Iowa, and his mother raised him in the town of Waterloo. He gained interest in rock n' roll after his grandmother introduced him to Elvis Presley. He developed a drug addiction and was overdosed twice to cocaine. When he was 17, he attempted suicide by overdose, but his ex's mother rescued him saving his life. He saw his father when he was 30 years old and revived their relationship. He has two children from his past relationships.

Taylor is said to have alcohol abuse problems though his former wife Scarlett helped him through. He married his new wife Stephanie Luby in Las Vegas in 2009

Slipknot and Stone Sour

Taylor is the sixth member of Slipknot and the founding member of the band Stone Sour. He was persuaded to join Slipknot by Joey Jordison, Shawn Crahan, and Mick Thomson. He also appeared on other bands aside from the two. In Slipknot, Taylor is one of the members behind the album "All Hope Is Gone," "Day of the Gusano," "Slipknot," and "Iowa." In Stone Sour, the albums were "Hydrograd," "Audio Secrecy," "Live in Moscow," and "Stone Sour."

Other Celebrities Who Help Fight COVID-19

Here are other celebrities who help front liners in fighting the pandemic.

1.) Adam Lambert and his foundation Feel Something is auctioning 15 of his stage outfits on eBay. The proceeds will be given to GLAAD, which is providing aid to LGBTQ communities that are affected by the pandemic. The items that will be in the auction include a Dolce & Gabbana suit, a leather studded jacket etc. The auction will run until May 6.

 2.) Three Eye Blind released a new EP titled "So Alone, So Alive" for the benefit of Crew Nation, an organization helping live music crews that were affected by COVID-19 pandemic. The new record was filmed in several locations while on quarantine, and the EP can be watched on the band's YouTube Channel.

3.) Rapper 2Chainz delayed the launch of his restaurant, and he decided to feed the homeless in the area. He posted his activity on Twitter.

4.) The band My Chemical Romance, whose reunion tour has been put on hold due to the pandemic, is selling face masks for $14.99 to raise funds for the Relief Fund of MusiCares.

Other artists include actor Jeffrey Wright, Beyonce, Charlize Theron, WhisBe, Kylie Jenner, among others.
