Tom Morello worked with Audible to tell his life story in a musical autobiography. The title for the musical narrative is "Tom Morello at Minetta Lane Theatre: Speaking Truth to Power Through Stories and Song."

Morello tells his story, narrating his early life until eventually joining Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, while he plays guitar during pauses. The Rage Against the Machine guitarist is known to tell stories and jokes to his friends and family. He has always been comfortable talking and telling stories in front of people while playing guitar to keep things interesting.

Some of his regular audience suggested to "put all of that together" and encouraged him to write the story about his life. For that reason, he created the audiobook as a "fun thing to do and a way to connect with fans from different generations."

The Audioslave guitarist was also approached to make a documentary about his life. He remembered being offered countless times, mostly because he was in numerous bands. However, Morello decided to collaborate with Audible because he gets to have more freedom regarding the narrative direction.

Born Thomas Baptiste Morello, he is famous for a unique and talented guitar technique that earned him the "Fifth Greatest Guitarist of the Past 30 Years" based on a BBC poll in 2010. His guitar riffs are a combination of heavy metal and punk with some hip-hop inspiration thrown in. In his performances, he is notable for bringing the guitar high up above the waist.

Aside from being a musician, Morello is also an activist. While in high school, he became interested in music at the same time, he got curious about politics. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Committee on Degrees in Social Studies at Harvard University.

Morello is co-founder of Axis of Justice, a political group of musicians and fans who aim to fight for social justice. He is also a member of the labor union, The Industrial Workers of the World.
