In an interview in NME, the Pop Icon revealed that she has reached out to Britney Spears during her conservatorship.

The All I Want For Christmas Is You hitmaker opened up that she felt the need to support her fellow pop star after watching the Netflix Documentary "Framing Britney Spears".

When asked what inspired her to reach out, Carey admitted that she was in a similar position a few years ago, in which Prince has reached out to her.

The 52-year old Christmas Legend recalls when Prince similarly reached out to her and "gave her a bible and talked" to her for hours. 

"So I reached out to her through a mutual friend because I wanted her to know: 'Guess what? You're not alone.," Mariah said.

The Meaning of Mariah Carey

Through her 2020 Memoir "The Meaning of Mariah Carey", the pop diva also claimed that her Sister Allison drugged her with Vallium when she was not more than 15 years old. 

However, later on, her sister denied these allegations that Carey wrote.

Aside from the grueling childhood, Mariah also accounted her controlling marriage with then SONY Music CEO Tommy Motola which led to their divorce.

Framing Britney Spears Documentary

The then-persecuted Popstar Britney Spears was under a legal conservatorship, which prevented her from making her own personal and financial decisions from 2008 until November this year. 

Released via FX and Hulu, The New York Times produced the documentary as part of the company's investigative documentary series, which quickly became a trending topic all over social media and a streaming hit on various streaming platforms. 

The full-length film followed the superstar's legal and emotional thirteen-year conservatorship battle. 

From issues surrounding his Father Jamie spears to the #FreeBritney movement mounted by fans, the documentary discussed the grueling journey of Popstar Britney Spears.

The documentary also managed to get two Creative Emmy Awards nominations for Outstanding Documentary or Non-Fiction Special and Outstanding Picture Editing of a Non-Fiction Program.

Recently, Britney calls on other stars to speak out against the "abusive system" after the terminiation of her conservatorship last month. 

Spears expressed her gratitude to fellow Pop Star Lady Gaga on speaker out for her, while lashing out on an Instagram Story after Christina Aguilera's snub on the issue when asked during the 2021 Latin Grammy Awards Red Carpet.
