Michael Sweet of Stryper performs at the 2012 BamaJam Music and Arts Festival - Day 2 on BamaJam Farms in Enterprise Alabama on June 15, 2012.
What happens when Stryper's Michael Sweet and George Lynch get together? When you add James Lomenzo (bass player from Megadeth, White Lion and Black Label Society) and Brian Tichy (drummer from S.U.N. and Whitesnake) to the mix, you get Sweet Lynch.

The new supergroup will debut their first release on Frontiers Records early next year. In the meantime, their first single and lyric video, a tribute to the victims of 9/11 called "September," will debut on September 11, 2014. Michael calls the music "an incredible combination of classic ’70s and ’80s" and says that fans will hear "some flavors of Journey, Bad Company, Dokken, Van Halen, and Stryper" in an interview with Guitar International.

This has been a busy year for Sweet. He has already released a new solo project, I'm Not Your Suicide, an autobiography, Honestly: My Life And Stryper Revealed and in September, Stryper will release a CD/DVD called Live At The Whisky
