Jimmy Page could have had an epic collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne in the latter's new album, but the Led Zeppelin member refused to take the offer.

Osbourne recently confirmed that he finished recording his upcoming album. The Black Sabbath rocker ensured that it would be full-packed as he tapped several musicians on board - Andrew Watt (guitar), Metallica's Robert Trujilo (bass), and Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith and the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters (drums).

Duff McKagan, Eric Clapton, Josh Homme, and Mike McReady were also featured in the album.

However, one name was missing as Osbourne's team failed to recruit Page. Smith revealed that Page "didn't play much anymore," although he said that he wanted to be seen playing guitar again.

After failing to secure the invitation, Page seemingly had a different reason for not joining Osbourne's album.

Why Jimmy Page Did Not Want To Appear in Ozzy Osbourne's Album

In a new interview with Classic Rock, the guitarist hinted that he refused to work with Osbourne - for now - as he was focusing on his upcoming projects instead.

"It's not just one thing, it's multiple things, and I don't want to even give a hint, because if you do ... you give a one-sentence sound bite, and then if it doesn't materialize, it's like: 'Why didn't you do a solo album?' So I don't want to say what it is that I've got planned, because I don't want to give people the chance to misinterpret it," he said.

Page hinted that he is about to reap the fruit of his efforts in the past years. In fact, he said on several occasions that he wanted to play guitar in public again, and he assured fans that they would be getting stuff from him soon.

Aside from working on his project, the approach the COVID-19 pandemic caused affected his decision to collaborate with Osbourne. Page explained that he never wants to be one of those musicians who record alone and then send the file to someone. Per the musician, music is not about recording and sending alone, but it is about playing together.

Although he kept the information as private as possible, he did offer some cryptic hints as he left everything to his fans' imagination.

Page, in the end, guaranteed fans that he could present himself - but not right now.
