The frontman for Twenty One Pilots alleges that the band was set to record for the "Top Gun: Maverick" soundtrack until Tom Cruise "fired everyone." It's unclear what the exact reason is, but it can be attributed to the actor just having a meltdown and making a "wholesale swap

Tyler Joseph spoke out about the alleged event, telling KROQ that he and his drummer, Josh Dun, were working on new music for the action sequel until the film's leading man intervened.

"You know, funny thing, I was working with the music placement person for the new Top Gun on writing a new song for them," he shared. "And then I believe Tom Cruise came in and just fired everyone," he added.

Joseph claimed he had seen a few scenes and was in the pre-writing process when Cruise handed the ax.  He said he was called in to so he can see some sequences and everything, but he does not believe the writing had actually started at that point.

When questioned about his dismissal, the singer stated, "It was actually pretty soon after they brought me in to show me parts of the movie of what they were looking for and stuff then I kind of got word that there was a wholesale swap."

Some insiders have now emerged to refute the reports, claiming the band was never contracted to participate in the film in the first place.

Regardless for what is the truth, it can be said that the Twenty One Pilots was replaced by Lady Gaga, as it is the abum's featured artist.

Gaga's Hold My Hand is the lead single of the highly-anticipated sequel. Some now believe that it is not really the song, but her friendship with Tom Cruise that paved the way. Some said the friendship was iffy, even.

When the pop star posted a selfie of herself holding Cruise's hand, she recently raised some eyebrows with her actions.

Tom Cruise having a meltdown on a movie set is not that hard to believe though. One can just recall the 2020 incident on the movie set of his then movie, "Mission: Impossible." He was heard in a recording threatening to fire anyone who would dare violating a COVID-19 safety protocol in place.

"Do you understand what I want? Do you understand the responsibility that you have? Because I will deal with your reason, and if you can't be reasonable, and I can't deal with your logic, you're fired. That's it," he said.
