Did Billie Eilish allow another to perform for her in Coachella 2022? She admitted as much.
Before Coachella visitors start demanding refunds because they saw an Eilish impersonator (an "Eilishmposter," as some would say) performing as Billie Eilish at the 2022 event though, they should calm down first. It appears that they did not see an impersonator - someone who is so taken with Eilish that she would act like her to get some minutes of fame, but a body double, someone deliberately hired to do so.
During an interview with Matt Wilkinson on Apple Music 1 on Tuesday (June 21), Billie, 20, discussed donning disguises to watch other musicians perform at festivals. "Yeah, but I was a different person then, and it didn't work!" she said. "I've done it, though occasionally, in different places, and it's really nice when you're able to do it."
This was when the Billie started to admit something shocking. "At Coachella, I actually did it because [at] the beginning of Coachella, I had a body double, one of my dancers that was one of my dancers for the show," she said. "I dressed her up in a show look that I had worn before. We got a black wig, and we put buns in it, and we gave her a mask and sunglasses, and she wore my shoes and my socks. And I put her up at the back of the stage, and she stood there while the lights went on, and everybody thought it was me. And nobody ever knew it wasn't me, literally nobody knew. And while she's up there, I put on a big black coat and a traffic vest and a hood and just glasses."

While amazing and appalling at the same time, it remains to be seen how people would react to this.
According to People, footage of the performance shows a person resembling Eilish standing at the back of the stage during the introduction incorporating bits of "Oxytocin" and "Happier Than Ever." Two minutes into the performance, when she began to perform her 2019 single "Bury a friend," the actual performer's face becomes visible.
Eilish is so busy these days using a double seems understandable.
Billie will headline Friday night (June 24) in Glastonbury 2024. In addition to Sir Paul McCartney, Kendrick Lamar, Robert Plant (of Led Zeppelin) & Alison Kraus, Diana Ross, Pet Shop Boys, Fontaines DC, Megan Thee Stallion, Olivia Rodrigo, St. Vincent, Little Simz, Primal Scream, Pheobe Bridgers, Charli XCX, Turnstile, Four Tet, and Billy Bragg will be performing at this year's festival.
Despite having a double, this does not mean Britney is
"It's a serious once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be asked to go to and to do," she told Matt Wilkinson about her headlining slot.
