Adele's popular 2015 ballad "Hello" has been covered by Avril Lavigne for the Spotify Singles collection.

Can you imagine "Hello" being given a rock makeover? Soft rock, considering Lavigne's forte, but rock nonetheless - something "Hello" was never meant to be.

But fans might just be in for a surprise.

The Canadian pop punk princess' interpretation of the song features restyled alt rock accompaniment and a fierce, angst-filled performance. And it is actually very good.

Also included with the disc is an acoustic rendition of Love Sux by Lavigne.

"I love Adele's song Hello and have been dying to do a cover of it" says Lavigne. "The Spotify Singles sessions were a fun opportunity to finally do this cover as well as reimagine my own song Love Sux as an acoustic version."

Lavigne released a deluxe edition of her debut album Let Go with a new version of Breakaway earlier this month to commemorate its 20th anniversary.

In February, Lavigne released her seventh studio album, Love Sux, on Travis Barker's company, DTA Records. Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 accompanied the vocalist on "All I Wanted," rapper-turned-rocker Machine Gun Kelly on "Bois Lie," and Blackbear on "I Love It When You Hate Me."

She previously stated about the release, "We used live guitars and live drums and didn't hold back, and just got to do exactly what I wanted and what I feel like I've probably wanted to do for a long time."

She also described the final product as "quick," "fun," and "simply pure rock-and-roll from front to back."

The pop-punk singer later stated that a cinematic adaptation of her 2002 mega-hit Sk8er Boi was in development to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the song.

Lavigne stated on the "She Is The Voice" (opens in new tab) podcast, ""Recently with it being almost the 20th anniversary, a lot of people have been asking me to play [Sk8er Boi] on some TV shows, so it keeps getting brought back up and people will always reference it to me. And so, I'm actually going to turn this song into a film... and take it to the next level."

The 37-year-old singer-songwriter recently posted a humorous video of herself wearing a black corset with orange laces and a fishnet overlay with long sleeves on TikTok.

The punk princess marched to the beat of her song "What the Hell" while lip-syncing the lyrics and dipping her hips to the left and right in the music video.

She captioned the 11-second video with "What the Hell," echoing her popular chart-topper.
