The 2022 BET Awards stirred headlines weeks before it took place last Sunday, but despite the drama that transpired between the channel and Lil Nas X, the highly-anticipated show was still a huge night.
With Doja Cat leading the nominees with six nods, Drake and Ari Lennox followed suit with four nominations each. Sadly, all of them got home without even bagging one.

BET Awards 2022 Winners
Silk Sonic has made BET Awards 2022 their night again as they took home the Album of the Year Award. They also won Best Group, beating Migos, City Gurls, and Chloe x Halle, among others.
The Weekend and Jazmine Sullivan were hailed the Best Male and Female R&B Pop Artists, with the "Heaux Tales" hitmaker delivering a rousing speech on standing up against the recent overturning of the Supreme Court of the Roe v Wade ruling on abortion.
Megan Thee Stallion and Kendrick Lamar, who were both at Glastonbury Festival last weekend, won Best Female and Male Hip-hop Artists.
Newcomer Latto won Best New Artist, while Wiz Kid and Justin Bieber's "Essence" won Best Collaboration, giving Bieber his first BET Award.
Diddy also received the BET Awards 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award, making him the second rapper to win the award - the first being Queen Latifah last year.

Last night's BET Awards 2022 was a bang!
First on the list was Jack Harlow's performance of "First Class." Just when everyone thought he would be dancing all by himself, he surprised everyone as Brandy made her way to the stage with her own verse.
Latto surely brought the house down after stunning everyone with a surprise Mariah Carey appearance - singer her part on "Big Energy."
Starting her shiny performance with a flute solo, Lizzo danced and sang "It's About Damn Time," which became viral on the video-sharing platform TikTok since its release.

Before Diddy received her BET Awards 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award, everyone was taken aback when Kanye West made a surprise appearance to give his flowers to the rap icon. Although his face was covered, the "DONDA" hitmaker referred to Combs as his "favorite artist."
Conversations about the recent overturning of the Roe v Wade and Gun Law also made to the center stage as host Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monae, Jazmine Sullivan, and Latto, among many others, took a jab on the issue.
