Adele has made a career out of channeling her pain into successful songs, but she may have just written her most devastating tune to date. It never was released officially though - whether she planned it for a new album or she decided to shelve it, it has been leaked and the lyrics can certainly bring some to tears.

She lashes out at a partner in a previously unheard song, "But I Want To,"' which has emerged online. The tape is said to have been created during sessions for her fourth album "30," which was already released last year, but its exuberant nature suggests that she explored a vastly different tone for the album.

On the track, she sings: "I didn't really want to be your lover, I was just bored and you were the first one I set my eyes on. Perhaps I was too young to be playing with fire. Like a loaded gun you held me up on your desire."

She sings further, "Had to learn how to run, had to learn how to walk away. I hate that I love you, the worst part is I never wanted to. It kills me that I can't bee around you, but I want to. Gonna lose my heart, gonna lose my mind in your eyes."

It is unknown who the song is about or whether it was inspired by her personal experiences in the first place. But everyone knows she is no stranger to painful breakups or heartbreaking ex experiences. It isn't the first time she would sing about her own heartbreak too.

In 2019, she divorced her spouse Simon Konecki.

Prior to that, she had another long-term lover, on whom her second album 21, which included the number-one hit "Someone Like You," was written.

Rich Paul, a sports agent, was spotted in the audience at the first of her two performances at British Summertime Hyde Park in London on Friday.

Adele wrote on Instagram yesterday: "My heart is absolutely full! I'll never forget these shows with you, slap bang in the middle of London, outdoors, during Pride weekend! Thank you so so much for having me.

Fans need not hear this leaked song to feel sad though.

Adele's abrupt cancellation of her Las Vegas residency on the eve of its debut brought fans to tears already.

In a recent interview with Lauren Laverne of the BBC, Adele discusses the criticism to the cancellation, how it left her feeling like a "shell of a person," and why she continues to stand by her choice not to continue with the show. She just knew it's not the show her fans deserve so she's not going to just continue it for the sake of it.

Adele promised in February that the Vegas performances are "definitely happening this year. The singer even stated at her sold-out weekend performance in London's Hyde Park that she would announce the new U.S. tour dates "very, very soon."
