Astroworld Victim's Family 'Hypocrites' Travis Scott's Camp Says

Instead of sending out the message that he cares for his audience, something he was accused the opposite of after the Astroworld tragedy, the family of one of the Astroworld victims believes it demonstrates he prioritizes fan safety selectively.  Not only is Travis Scott's camp denying this, they are also hitting back and calling the victim's family "despicable."

Attorney Alex Hilliard, who represents Ezra Blount's family, shares that Scott's actions at the July 4 Coney Island concert do not demonstrate the rapper's sympathy and willingness to maintain order. In fact, it displays the complete opposite, at least according to the attorney.

Hillard says, "He knows exactly how to keep his fans safe during a concert, but the problem with that is he didn't just learn about the fact that he has control over the entire crowd."

His implication is that Travis has always known he possesses this power, including in Astroworld, but has just refused to utilize it to restore order. Travis denies the claim.

Hillard goes on -- "There are 10 people that would still be alive today, including young Ezra Blount, if Travis realized his responsibility as an artist goes further than just trying to rile up his crowds, and it reemphasizes the rule of 'if you see something say something.'"

The singer, who has been trying to repair his reputation ever since that incident, cannot take these new allegations sitting down.

A rep claimed that this is "the height of hypocrisy."

The camp said that it is disappointing to see that In a desperate attempt to sway possible jurors, the plaintiffs' legal team is incredibly dishearteningly attacking Travis for delaying Monday's Coney Island event to guarantee audience safety. This is the worst possible message to give to both fans and artists. And it entirely disregards the fact that Travis interrupted his Astroworld performance "three times."

Travis Scott at Coney Event

In the immediate aftermath of the Coney Island performance, one of Travis's representatives stated, "Travis is committed to doing his part to ensure events are as safe as possible so fans can have fun," and he urged fans to listen to security in order for everyone to remain safe and have a good time.

At present however, Travis is still facing multiple lawsuits alleging he is responsible for the murders at Astroworld Fest. Despite his requests, he has not been dismissed from any of these lawsuits, which are still pending before the courts.
