Shania Twain might be one of the most prominent country musicians in the industry, but little did fans know that she suffered from a lot of things, from her health to her husband's infidelity.

According to ET Online, the singer's life story is the center of her new Netflix documentary titled "Not Just a Girl" where she gets candid about the details of her life that the public didn't know until today.

In the early 2000s, Twain was enjoying the success of her album "Up!" when she got bit by a tick while horseback riding.

The situation was so bad that she got Lyme disease, and the health condition symptoms were scary for her.

Towards the end of her tour, the singer didn't know that she got the disease, and she experienced severe symptoms while performing.

Without revealing the exact venue of her concert when she felt ill, Twain said she was feeling "very dizzy" and losing her balance onstage.

"I was afraid I was gonna fall off the stage and the stage is quite high. So, I was staying far from the edge. I was adjusting what I was doing," she said in the documentary.

She also suffered "millisecond blackouts" every minute or every 30 seconds.

Upon being diagnosed and going through treatment, Twain said the medical condition heavily affected her music career as there was a sudden change in her voice.

"But my voice was never the same again, it just went into this strange flanging, lack of control of the air flow, I didn't understand it," she explained.

The country star added that she thought she would be losing her voice forever and would never sing again.

While going through the pain of her health condition, she faced another problem as she found out that her husband, Rober "Mutt" Lange, was allegedly cheating on her with her best friend.

The situation led her to put an end to their 14-year marriage.

Per the outlet, the ex-couple was married from 1993 to 2010.

Speaking about separating from her then-husband, Twain said the grief was similar to losing her parents, and she even compared it to "death."

"It was the permanent end to so many facets of my life and I never got over my parents' death so I'm thinking, 'S***, I'm never going to get over this,'" she added.

Shania Twain recovered from her heartache when Lionel Richie reached out to her to do a duet of "Endless Love," which made her get back in the studio.

Today, the country star is married to her current husband, Frédéric Thiébaud.

Her documentary, "Not Just a Girl," is available for streaming on Netflix.
