Tory Lanez's lawyer is purposely delaying his client's ongoing assault trial with Megan Thee Stallion because of her other legal commitments that seemed to be getting in the way.

On the other hand, Megan Thee Stallion is also embroiled in her own legal battle with her former label 1501 Entertainment on her previous album, "Something For Thee Hotties."

The presiding judge on the assault case between the two rappers has yet to decide on Lanez's camp postponement demands.

Tory Lanez Lawyer Delays Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Case Trial

In an update that Rolling Stone reporter Nancy Dillion tweeted earlier, she revealed that Tory Lanez did not show up for his supposed trial hearing today.

Per Dillion, the male rapper's lawyers have asked to postpone their September 14 trial on Megan Thee Stallion's assault case to a later date because of the head lawyer's apparent "potential conflicts" that are getting in the way.

It is unclear what "potential conflicts" Lanez's lawyer might be facing that could hinder their commitments to the high court, but it seemed to be unrelated to Megan Thee Stallion.

The judge, however, described the move to be "premature" and has yet to decide on their decision if they would grant it on Aug. 12, 2022.

Tory Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Case

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has come forward earlier this year to fully detail the truth about the 2020 incident she was involved with ex-friend Tory Lanez in California.

Going home after a Kylie Jenner party, Megan and Tory went home with the latter's SUV. However, a heated argument turned into a violent altercation leading to the male rapper shooting Megan in the foot.

The "Sweetest Pie" hitmaker, later on, was rushed to the hospital but denied that she was shot by Tory Lanez. It is until later on that he revealed the identity of the rapper.

Later on, Lanez was charged with assault with a semi-automatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle - but has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Aside from this high-profile case, Megan was also involved in a lawsuit against her former label, 1501 Entertainment, whom she is suing for performing an "unlawful" ploy against her.
