Olivia Newton-John, an actress and singer who sang the hit songs "Physical" and "I Honestly Love You," died. She was 73.

Newton-John's husband, John Easterling, delivered the sad news via her official Facebook page. He revealed that she passed away peacefully at her ranch, with his family and friends surrounded her until her last breath.

"Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer," the bereaved family penned, as quoted by Yahoo! Entertainment.

The statement did not reveal Olivia Newton-John's cause of death, but it was disclosed that her passing came after her long battle with breast cancer. In 2018, the actress herself disclosed that she was receiving treatment for cancer at the base of her spine.

It marked her third battle against the disease following two bouts of breast cancer in the 1990s and 2017.

Instead of giving her flowers, Newton-John's family asked everyone to donate in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund (ONJFoundationFund.org).

She launched the foundation to sponsor global research into plant medicine for cancer. The singer also inspired everyone as the independent charity aims to realize a world beyond the dreaded illness.

Olivia Newton-John's Career

Her love for music started when she was young, and it pushed her to pursue singing through a local Australian TV in 1964. When she turned 16, Newton-John won on the show "Sing Sing Sing" and received a trip to England as a prize.

At that time, she reportedly had thoughts about whether to quit school or pursue stardom - she chose the latter.

In 1971, she marked her debut through the solo album "If Not for You" which also became her first instant international hit.

"I'm not madly ambitious, that I want to be a huge star or anything like that. I just want to get better at what I'm doing," the 23-year-old singer told ABC News Australia.

From there, Newton-John continuously dropped hit songs like "Let Me Be There," "I Honestly Love You," "Have You Never been mellow," "Don't Stop Believin'," "Please Mr. Please," and "Physical."

Outside the music industry, she became part of one of the top-grossing movie musicals, "Grease." She starred in the film alongside John Travolta.
