Nickelodeon star Jennette McCurdy just released her explosive memoir, "I'm Glad My Mom Died," wherein she exposes how her mother exploited her in the entertainment industry at a young age.

But apart from her days working at "iCarly" with Miranda Crosgrove, she has also painstakingly detailed her working relationship with then fellow Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande.

In the memoir, it seemed like Ariana Grande's budding music career is the reason why the two's friendship has fallen out.

Ariana Grande Music Career Featured in Jennette McCurdy's Memoir

Over the past few weeks, Jeannette McCurdy's new memoir, "I'm Glad My Mom Died" has taken everyone aback with her revelations on how it is like working as a young actress in the entertainment industry.

Also in the memoir, McCurdy has finally confirmed the age-old rumors emerging that she and Ariana Grande were not the best of friends despite their on-screen camaraderie in "Sam and Cat."

Apparently, Jennette was promised a solo spin-off show for her character in "iCarly" as Sam Puckett. However, Nickelodeon looked for a way to feature the "Victorious" character Cat Valentine, played by Ariana Grande in the mix too - to which "Sam and Cat" were born, Jennette reveals.

In the memoir, McCurdy refers to Grande as a "burgeoning pop star," and her growing commitments as a musician, became a reason for her to miss shootings, thereby leaving McCurdy "to hold down the fort."

She also pointed out that while Ariana was given the chance to do a press tour for her albums at the time, she was not given the luxury to explore other opportunities for herself.

"I booked two features during iCarly that I had to turn down because the iCarly team wouldn't write me out of episodes to go shoot them," she claimed.

One particular instance that Jennette has pointed out is when Ariana was absent for one full week, the production found a way to write around the story on her absence while locking her character in a box. (via Entertainment Online)

"So I have to turn down movies while Ariana's off whistle-toning at the Billboard Music Awards? F**k. This," she quipped.

Elsewhere in the interview, the 30-year-old actress has also confessed why she is particularly jealous of Ariana Grande - because the latter's career is flourishing and hers is stagnant.

At the time Ariana Grande released her debut album "Yours Truly" and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts, "Sam & Cat" has just aired the ninth episode of its first season.
