Ricky Martin is retaliating against his nephew after the scandalous allegations thrown at him last July. The Puerto Rican star is filing a $20 million lawsuit against his estranged nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez.

Shortly after Sanchez made the allegations public, he recanted the statements immediately, due to undisclosed reasons.

Ricky Martin Files Whopping Lawsuit Against Accuser Nephew

According to legal documents that Billboard has obtained, Ricky Martin is filing a $20 million lawsuit against Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, the same nephew who acussed him earlier this year of harassment.

The filing says that Martin was "persecuted, besieged, harassed, stalked and extorted by a maladjusted person whose interest is to obtain an economic benefit."

Apparently, the 21-year-old nephew of Martin messaged him on Instagram demanding an undisclosed amount of money and publicized the singer's personal phone number online without his consent.

Despite saying under oath that his uncle Ricky Martin did not harass him contrary to his initial statements, the "Livin La Vida Loca" singer says that the harassment from his nephew continued.

Because of the damaging accusations that were recanted shortly, Ricky Martin said in the filing that he has lost projects, and even "multi-million dollar" deals for his music.

Ricky Martin is asking for $20 million for damages the lawsuit has brought to his career.

New information also emerged detailing how Sanchez harassed his uncle through the years. Martin claims that his nephew texted from October 2022 to January 2022 up to ten messages a day, the Associated Press reports.

The texting stopped until Martin was filed with an anonymous restraining order.

Ricky Martin Recants Ricky Martin Harassment Accusations

Ricky Martin appeared in court and denied all the allegations.

"Unfortunately, the attack came from a family member ... I only wish him the best, for him to find the light. A lie can cause so much harm. It harmed me, my husband, my kids, my parents, and my family. I couldn't defend myself because there was a legal process I had to follow where I had to be silent until I'd be able to speak to a judge," Martin said.

Shortly after the lawsuit was filed the court decided to not extend the temporary restraining order after Sanchez asked the judge to dismiss the case.

As of this writing, Ricky Martin or his team has not issued any statements about the new lawsuit.
