Chad Gilbert, guitarist for New Found Glory, disclosed that he underwent a six-hour operation to remove a tumor from his spine. This is not the guitarist's first time being diagnosed with cancer.

Gilbert spent two weeks in the hospital in December to have surgery to remove a rare tumor called a pheochromocytoma.

After surgeons removed "half a liver, a gallbladder, and one adrenal gland," Gilbert announced the following month that he was "cancer-free."

In contrast, he was diagnosed with a tumor on his spine and "small nodules on his lungs" in the summer and was scheduled to undergo radiation therapy on September 12.

However, doctors noticed that the tumor had been growing aggressively, necessitating complete surgical removal.

In an Instagram post now, Chad wrote: "Another unexpected turn of events. I was supposed to start radiation on Monday for the small amount of Pheochromocytoma left in my T-12 Vertebrae! A few days before that I started having the worst hip pain! Excruciating. So bad I couldn't sit longer than 10 minutes or sleep longer than 2 hours at a time because of the pain. I was standing up all night for several days. Awful. Was having to watch TV standing up. "

It feels as if the musician is already very used to health scares.

Gilbert's pheochromocytoma diagnosis from the previous year was not his first cancer worry, too.

In 2010, he had surgery to remove a suspicious tumor from his thyroid. During his recovery from this operation, guitarist Anthony Raneri of BAYSIDE replaced Gilbert on the tour for New Found Glory. The band ave fans an early Christmas present in December 2021 by releasing the festive album "December's Here" on Hopeless Records.

With eleven original songs, including the singles "Somber Christmas" and "Holiday Records," NEW FOUND GLORY helped fans get into the holiday spirit. New Found Glory published a new deluxe album titled "Forever And Ever x Infinity...And Beyond!!!" earlier in 2021. The band wrote and recorded six new songs for "Forever And Ever x Infinity...And Beyond!!!," including the singles "Backseat" and "The Last Redeye." Gilbert, Jordan Pundik (lead vocals), Ian Grushka (bass guitar), and Cyrus Bolooki make up New Found Glory (drums).

On May 29 at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, Michigan, New Found Glory commemorated the 20th anniversary of Sticks and Stones. The front-to-back live performance of the album demonstrated how a CD can still evoke the emotions of a specific time in one's life. Here are five memorable moments from the show:
