When Lil Wayne introduced the Lil WeezyAna Fest crowd to a "foreigner," they probably did not expect Drake to come on stage and surprise them.

The Canadian rapper was well-received by the fans, which made him a bit sentimental and emotional as he shared his experience in New Orleans City, where the music festival was held.

"New Orleans is one of the few cities that shaped my career," said the "Hotline Bling" rapper.

According to reports, Lil Wayne took Drake under his wing, as Cash Money Records signed the Toronto native.

Lil Wayne and Drake go way back. They worked on a song entitled "Man of the Year," and the latter joined the former's "The Carter V" tour in Houston.

"The day I knew I made it was, I was outside the W hotel in New Orleans, and I walked over to the corner, and there was a guy that had a bootleg CD. It was an album I put out called 'So Far Gone,' and I don't know if you remember that."

"But he had [a] bootleg of that s**t, and that was the first time in my life that I knew I made it. I love New Orleans and everything that you've ever done," he recalled.

Reunited

As the pair reunited in the city where it all began for Drake, they performed several hit songs that fans definitely enjoyed, including "She Will," Lil Wayne's song off of "The Carter IV."

Drake's famous hits were also performed like "God's Plan" and "Jimmy Cooks." Other songs they performed included "The Motto," "In My Feelings," "Nonstop," and "Knife Talk."

New Orleans is also a city that Lil Wayne holds close to his heart, as he was born and raised there, and according to reports, he also almost died there as well.

Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., almost died after he accidentally shot himself in the chest as a child. He has since moved from the city to sunny Miami, he still comes back to his roots, which is probably why Lil WeezyAna Fest was held in the city.

The music festival was held at the Champions Square. The music festival was supposed to happen back in August, but was pushed back to October due to "unforeseen circumstances," reports say.
