Success and Impact

The debut album featured several fellow rappers who are considered as big-names in the rap scene, including Drake, Mary J. Blige, Rick Ross, and even John Legend was credited in one of the songs, "Maybach Curtains."

The two songs off the star-studded album also bagged Recording Industry Association of America certifications, "Amen" which was certified Gold and the intro which was certified Platinum.

"Dreams & Nightmares" was not only a commercial success, it also created an impact on the community, especially within the Philadelphia community, who adored and supported the rapper.

According to NBC Philadelphia, "Dreams & Nightmares" became an anthem for the Philadelphia Eagles during their run to the Super Bowl LII title, and Mills even performed the song before one of their games earlier this season.

Roots

Mill, born Robert Rihmeek Williams, was born and raised in Philadelphia. He was also residing in the city when he decided to pursue a career in music, starting out as a battle rapper.

He eventually signed his first record deal in 2008. However, this was not when "Dreams & Nightmares' was released, because he signed to a different label in 2011, Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group.

Since the release of his debut album, Mills has released several albums, including "Dreams With More Than Money" in 2015, "Wins & Losses" in 2017, "Championships" in 2018, and "Expensive Pain" in 2021.

Aside from being active in making music, Mills is also known for supporting several causes and is an active advocate.

He co-founded Reform Alliance with fellow rapper Jay-Z, which advocates for criminal justice reform. This follows his experience of being incarcerated, reports say.

In 2019, a documentary series, "Free Meek," was released on Amazon Prime Video; it followed his battle with the criminal justice system. He was credited as an executive producer with Jay-Z.
