In an exclusive interview with Billboard, former Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox revealed the tracklist, album cover, and release date for her next album. The album is titled Nostalgia and features covers of American standards, largely from the '30s and '40s, by artists such as Billie Holiday, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, and George Gershwin.

"I was just curious, I thought, 'I wonder what my voice would be like. Would these songs suit my voice?'" she told Billboard about the album's origins. "It was like a little challenge...I just sort of got to know them, became friends with them really and had a great deal of joy in the process."

Nostalgia will be Lennox's sixth studio album, her first since 2010's A Christmas Cornucopia, and her first non-Christmas album since 2007's Songs of Mass Destruction. It is also Lennox's third covers album, following A Christmas Cornucopia and 1995's Medusa. The album will be released on vinyl on Sept. 30, with digital and other physical formats coming on Oct. 21.

"I like that I found this little area of music that's gentle and I feel introspective," said Lennox. "It's not something that you just kind of hear in the back - it kind of takes you, it transports you. It makes you feel something - it's very emotive in a way."
