Coolio, whose true name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., died after a suspected heart attack on September 28. The formal cause of death has yet to be determined.

Coolio's burial was held on Oct. 15 at Mountain View Mortuary & Cemetery, followed by a party at an undisclosed location where his children interacted with hip-hop industry colleagues.

The legend, according to his partner Mimi, did not want a burial. She told the Daily Mail she wanted to honor his desires by cremating him.

"He had no desire for a burial or a memorial service. He didn't want any of it," the rapper's partner remarked; nonetheless, this interview was conducted prior to the burial.

Because, in the end, Coolio's family prevailed and organized a memorial party for him, with his eldest son Artis III telling The Sun in an interview that they will have a "personal memorial" for family and friends.

"He wanted a celebration where everyone could celebrate his life, play music, and just fill up the room and smile and have a nice time."
