The Walkmen is gearing up to break its hiatus after a decade.

Nearly a decade since The Walkmen started its extended hiatus after its "Heaven" tour, the band delivered good news regarding its future.

In frontman Hamilton Leithauser's statement shared by Pitchfork and Billboard, he confirmed that the band would mark its return with first shows since 2013.

"Back in 2013, an unnamed Walkmen band member (bassist Peter Bauer) announced to the Washington Post that we were going on an 'extreme hiatus.' I assumed that meant there would be a lot of monster energy drinks and maybe that red-headed snowboarder guy would be hanging around a lot," he said.

Leithauser noted that none of those they expected ever happened. Instead, the band members worked on individual endeavors in different industries.

After receiving a clip of the band's performance at Irving Plaza in 2003, the members came together again and decided to mark their return.

The Walkmen's reunion will happen at New York's Webster Hall on April 26 and 27. Fans can obtain tickets during its presale on Thursday, 10:00 p.m. ET but an initial registration is a must.

A few hours later, the band added two more shows, announcing its four-night concert at Webster Hall starting April 24 and ending on the 27th.

Meanwhile, the general selling will start on Friday at 11:00 a.m. ET.

Following the confirmation, The Walkmen's fans expressed their excitement through social media posts.

The Walkmen Reunion A Long Time Coming?

Before The Walkmen confirmed its return, rumors about the members' reunion surfaced earlier this month.

On November 6, the band updated its social media accounts. It uploaded a video of them performing "The Rat" live. Although it did not include a caption on the post, fans started speculating that the band might be reuniting soon.

Fans said that The Walkmen's website was also up again and started accepting fans' e-mail addresses where it could send updates.

After going on a hiatus in 2013, Leithauser revealed during a Reddit AMA in 2020 that the band had no plans to reunite at that time. However, he did not close the doors then and told everyone that no one would ever know if something happens.
