Placebo is set to takeover the United Kingdom and Ireland in the next few weeks for their tour and they have an odd request for fans to really feel their presence during their shows.

According to NME, the duo, featuring members Stefan Olsdal and Brian Molko, will kick off their tour in Portsmouth on November 18.

They took to social media to ask fans not to spend the concert filming or taking photos with their mobile devices because it makes it hard for them to perform.

"More difficult to connect with you and to communicate effectively the emotions of the songs," they wrote.

The pair also added that using cellphones during events could be disrespectful to other concertgoers who attended the show to enjoy music, not the "back of your phone."

"Please be here and now in the present and enjoy the moment. Because this exact moment will never ever happen again," they added."

Placebo concluded their post by sharing their purpose to their fans which is to create "communion and transcendence" and they need their supporters' cooperation on their mission.

The pair's upcoming tour will kickoff at Guildhall in Portsmouth on November 18, before touring across the United Kingdom and Ireland until December 8 at the O2 Academy in Birmingham.

Not the First Time Placebo Had a 'Phone-Free' Event

This isn't the first time the duo attempted to have a "phone-free" event as they previously performed at five shows back in March to celebrate the release of their album, "Never Let Me Go."

Before the scheduled shows, the band shared a statement online, saying all their intimate album release shows will be a "phone-free experience."

Concergoers who will be caught using their cameras, phones, smart watches, and other recording device, will not be permitted within the venue as the band wanted to be "in the moment" with their fans.

At the time, mobile and recording devices were secured in their individual "Yondr pouches" and they were only able to have access to their gadgets at the end of the show.

For guests who needed to use their mobile devices, there were designated phone use areas within the location.

"Anyone seen using a device during the performance will be politely escorted out of the venue by security," they added.
