When Paula Abdul, a former "American Idol" judge, performed a tap dance on the Jennie-O Turkey Store float during the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, she drew criticism.

Users of social media were outraged after the 11-second video was posted on Twitter.

"Budget performance" criticized one user. Some described her performance as a massive head filter.

Abdul may have raised some eyebrows, but the "Forever Your Girl" singer simultaneously received a flood of support on social media. And most importantly, she received the applause of Flav.

During NBC's broadcast of the yearly holiday event, the 60-year-old pop legend was performing her iconic hit "Straight Up" when the camera turned to Flav, who got up from his seat to applaud her set while waving a set of pom-poms. When Abdul completed her performance, NBC once more showed the 63-year-old rapper standing up and applauding Abdul's performance while donning a green Milwaukee jacket and a necklace with one of his recognizable bejeweled clocks.

Several other times during the show, Flav was cut to, and each time, he appeared more animated. The cast of Bumper in Berlin, Betty Who, Joss Stone, Jordin Sparks, and Mariah Carey-who was scheduled to perform as the parade's closing act-were also present.

Nearly a year after he first disclosed that he was recovering from a strange accident involving a boulder striking with his automobile, the former Flavor of Love reality show star and Public Enemy performer made a public appearance.

American singer-songwriter-dancer-choreographer-actress-television personality Paula Abdul also writes songs. At the age of 18, Abdul started her career as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers. She later rose to the position of head choreographer for the Laker Girls, where The Jacksons first caught their attention. She is regarded as one of the best singers in the world today.

She served as the head judge of the popular American reality competition series "American Idol" created by Simon Fuller from 2002 until 2009, appearing with Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson. She made an appearance as a guest judge for season 10 of "So, You Think You Can Dance?" in 2013, and participated in "X Factor Around The World" as a judge.
