The mother of Aaron Carter has accused his fiancée Melanie Martin with his death.
On November 5, 2022, at his Lancaster, California, home, the 34-year-old former pop star was declared dead. It took some time to identify the official cause of death.
Melanie claims that Jane Schneck's accusations are both false and hurtful, and that she is not to blame for the death of the "I Want Candy" hitmaker.
Melanie shared some of the Facebook posts Jane made on her personal page, in which she directly accused Melanie of killing her son. The screenshots were accessible through TMZ.
"My baby is dead because of her and her money manager ways," one post said.
"I've been warning him for the past two years. He almost returned home," read another of Jane's posts.
"Melanie is making money off his death at every opportunity; it's disgusting."
"Melanie did it," but this reportedly referred to Melanie driving the late child star to "madness."
Melanie claims that she had a fair amount of goodwill toward her alleged mother-in-law before the "I'm All About You" passed, but her accusations are wholly contrastingwith Jane's claims.
Melanie Martin claimed that while Aaron Carter was still alive, Jane often thanked her for looking out for her fiancé's interests and even told her that she understood how much Melanie loved her son.

According to one example cited by TMZ, Jane gushed about Melanie while she was helping Aaron get his teeth fixed, even referring to her as her "daughter-in-law."
Melanie claimed that the nature of her previous relationship with Jane was what made the latter's attacks so painful.
She nevertheless revealed that she doesn't hold the since-deleted posts against Aaron Carter's mother. Since everyone is grieving differently, she is aware of this as well.
The OnlyFans model also disclosed that after Jane's posts, an assistant of Aaron's sister Angel called her personally to apologize and inform her that those posts had already been deleted.
Melanie Martin has been invited to the memorial the family will hold the year after to spread the ashes of the "Summertime" hitmaker. Prince, their one-year-old son, should have a relationship with the Carters, so she also wants to mend fences with Jane. They were going to meet Jane for Christmas before Aaron Carter died.
