Dino Danelli, The Rascals drummer, passed away at 78 years old very recently.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Dino Danelli's spokesperson, Joe Russo, who is also the band's archivist and historian, revealed a lengthy statement that the iconic musician has died.

"I will attempt to inform you of the circumstances surrounding Dino's passing while at the same time providing my personal thoughts and reflections of who he was to me, at least in some small, inadequate measure," he started his statement.

Dino Danelli Cause of Death

As of this writing, the actual cause of death of Dino Danelli wasn't exactly specified on the actual Facebook post of his spokesperson. However, he has detailed specifically what health problems he had in the past that might have led to his mournful passing.

Dino Danelli Health Problems

Danelli, who has known as the drummer of the group The Rascals, was one of the many iconic acts inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

In the Facebook post made by his spokesperson announcing his death, it seemed like Dino Danelli's health problems ultimately deteriorated his health which presumably led to his passing.

In 2018, Russo, his spokesperson, noticed "subtle" changes in his movements and his ability to walk steadily.

After being asked to be picked up from a doctor's visit, Russo was tasked to jot down every wish that Danelli wanted to be honored after his passing. At the time, it wasn't alarming, considering Dino's age.

He did not explicitly say what crisis or whatever findings the doctor had at the time, but Russo confirmed that his desire and ability to do the creative things he usually did ultimately dissipated.

"He stopped being "Dino." Almost overnight, it seemed, a huge aspect of the the tremendous personality I knew since I was a teenager virtually began to vanish," he said.

Russo said that Dino Danelli was hospitalized and returned home in 2019 afterward.

But in 2022, Dino ended up in a rehab center where his health got worse.

Among Dino Danelli's health problems were coronary artery disease and congestive heart failure, among many others. He even had an angioplasty a decade earlier, his mysterious diagnosis.

"He was the epitome of "cool" and never ceased to impress me with his seemingly endless reservoir of ideas and approaches. The word "artist" is so commonly used to describe even the slightest level of self expression, but let me assure you Dino Danelli possessed a mindset, a creative philosophy and a set of skills as profound as any of the great artists you've ever read about," Russo said further in the statement.

Meanwhile, tributes for Dino Danelli's death have poured over social media; Gene Cornish, one of the members of The Rascals, penned a sweet tribute to Dino Danelli.

"It is with a broken heart that I must tell you of the passing of Dino Danelli. He was my brother and the greatest drummer I've ever seen. I am devastated at this moment. Rest In Peace Dino I love you brother," he said.
