Miley Cyrus has been dropping hints that she would release music next year, and fans could not hide their excitement!

While most artists continuously released new music despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Cyrus has not dropped one yet since her 2020's "Plastic Hearts." Fans lost hope of hearing something new from her this year, but the singer hyped them with new hints.

On Monday, the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker shared posts that seemingly hint at her upcoming music.

The Instagram clip and its caption show the words, "NEW YEAR, NEW MILEY." Photos of a lower body wearing a red thong and a hand with tattoos can be seen in the background.

She also added a countdown timer on her website, Miley World. As of press time, the timer shows something will be up in 12 days. Visitors can also opt to connect on Spotify or sign up on the website to get the news about the update firsthand.

Her fandom's members immediately expressed their excitement following the recent events. They also declared that their long wait was finally over.

Miley Cyrus's New Year's Eve Party

Aside from potential new music, the countdown timer might also be connected to her Miley's New Year's Eve Party.

She has been tapped to head NBC's 2022 New Year's Eve Special alongside Dolly Parton. It will mark the second time Cyrus leads the year-end event.

During her latest appearance on "The Tonight Show," she told Jimmy Fallon that Latto, Sia, and Rae Sremmurd are among the artists who will join them in the event.

"As we get closer to the show, I want to start revealing who else we have. But the lineup is very me. It is curated in a way that makes no sense, but makes total sense," Cyrus said.

Miley's New Year's Eve Party will be aired on Dec. 31 on NBC and Peacock. It will be broadcast live from Miami.

Apart from her music career, Cyrus sparked rumors that she might play Parton's role in a future biopic. She told E! News that, while she and Parton never spoke about playing the singer, she said she feels like she is already doing it.
