Two years of conjecture over Kid Cudi and Travis Scott's joint record, "The Scotts," have concluded.

The 38-year-old stated that the project would not be released.

The Cleveland rapper was conversing with fans on Twitter early Wednesday (Dec. 21) morning when a user inquired whether the Scotts album is still in the works.

The "Entergalactic" musician cited the tweet and said it's no longer happening.

The title track was first released by Cudi and the Astroworld artist on April 24, 2020, during a Fortnite event. The song debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

In August of that year, the "Sicko Mode" musician told GQ that they had "some fireness" in the works, referring to a whole collaborative album.

The "Pursuit of Happiness" rapper promised a fan on Twitter in September 2021 that it will happen even if it is not clear yet when.

Following the releases of "Baptized In Fire," "Through The Late Night," and "Stop Trying To Be God," fans were enthusiastic about the possibility of a joint effort between the two artists.

Kid Cudi has been relatively active musically since "The Scotts" was released, releasing "Man On The Moon III: The Chosen" in December 2012 and stacking 2022 with "The Boy Who Flew To The Moon" (Vol. 1) in July, the reissue of "A Kid Named Cudi" in August, and "Entergalactic" in September.

La Flame's upcoming album, "Utopia", is eagerly anticipated, especially given the four-year gap between the release of his multi-platinum album, "Astroworld."

Travis Scott has since been on other albums, including Drake's Certified "Lover Boy", Kanye West's "Donda", Young Thug's "Punk", SZA's "S.O.S"., and many others. Cudi first told Apple Music's Zane Lowe that he has no ambition to release music or tour after September's "Entergalactic", but later recanted and revealed he has one more album for his fans in November. This collaboration with Travis Scott on a full-length album appears to remain a pipe dream.

There appears to be no feud though, although the real reason behind cancellation is unclear. If Kid Cudi was ever in a feud, feuding withTravis Scott was not one of them. Drake, Big Sean, Lupe Fiasco, Wale, Consequence, and more others had a beef with him but not Scott.
