Happy birthday, Dolly Parton! She's a country icon, a legend, and a millionaire. In honor of her special day, let's take a look at the early days of her life, career, and how she makes money to achieve her millions of dollars of net worth.

Born Dolly Rebecca Parton on January 19, 1946, the country legend is currently celebrating her 77th birthday! Aside from being a renowned singer, the musician is also an actress, a businesswoman, and a philanthropist.

During her early days, she grew up with 11 other siblings. Her parents were Avie Lee Caroline and Robert Parton Sr. Her father worked hard to provide for their family as he worked as a sharecropper on his small tobacco farm and later became a construction worker.

In previous interviews, Parton commended her father, popularly known as Lee, for being one of the smartest people she had ever known when it came to making money and doing business despite his illiteracy.

At the young age of 13, she appeared in her first television stint. She later found a career in music after being signed to a small recording label and performed at the legendary Grand Ole Pry. At the time, the musician knew she wanted to have a career in the country music scene but she had to finish her studies first.

After graduating high school, the "Jolene" songstress moved straight to Nashville to seek opportunities. On her first day, she met Carl Dean, whom she later married and they are still together today. (via Insider)

Since then, Parton became one of the most legendary musicians not just in the country scene, but also in the music industry in general. Just recently, she was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
