The 2023 Grammy Awards is just around the corner, and it will once again honor some of the industry's biggest, brightest, and most talented artists and musicians.

Unfortunately, not all artists will come back to the annual event's red carpets; artists like Loretta Lynn, Christine McVie, and Takeoff all tragically passed away in 2022.

Although they are no longer alive, that does not take away their contributions to the world of music, and the recording Academy made sure to highlight them, their career, and their achievements.

The Grammy Awards will feature a star-studded Memoriam segment in honor of the three artists, reports say.

Kacey Musgraves will be paying tribute to Grammy lifetime achievement awardee Loretta Lyn; Sheryl Crow, Mick Fleetwood, and Bonnie Raitt will be honoring the iconic singer-songwriter Christine McVie; and Quavo along with Maverick City Music will be remembering Migos member Takeoff.

Grammy Awards 2023 Tribute Performances

According to Billboard, Musgraves will perform Lynn's 1970 song "Coal Miner's Daughter."

Lynn died last October 2022 at the age of 90. Her family released a statement, noting that the country star died in her sleep at home.

According to the Recording Academy, Lynn was nominated 18 times for a Grammy Award; she won three.

In 2010, she was bestowed the lifetime achievement award by the Recording Academy.

Sheryl Crow, Mick Fleetwood, and Bonnie Raitt will perform McVie's masterpiece "Songbird."

McVie died in November 2022 at 79. Her family shared that the singer passed away at a hospital "following a short illness."

She is highly regarded in the industry and is a recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including two Grammy Awards.

Unlike the two aforementioned artists, Takeoff's death was brutal. He died in November 2022 due to a shooting incident that occurred in a bowling alley. He was 28 years old.

Quavo and Maverick City Music will perform the latter's recently released song, "Without You." The song deviates from Quavo's usual genre of music, which is hip-hop. The singer dedicated the ballad to his former Migos pal and nephew after his death.

To catch these tribute performances, tune in to this year's Grammy Awards, which will air on Feb. 5.
