Neal Schon Bio

Born Neal George Joseph Schon to Matthew and Barbara Schon at the Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, the Journey founder is of German and Italian ancestry.

He got his influence and love for music from his father, who was a big band composer, arranger, musician, and multi-instrumentalist. He received music education from his father, who taught him to play the saxophone, his mother, on the other hand, was a great singing teacher.

Playing since ten years old, Neal Schon dropped out of high school and pursued a career in music.

Neal Schon and 'Journey'

In 1973, thanks to Santana manager Herbie Herbert, Journey was born.

With Schon leading the guitar, Gregg Rolie was helming the keyboards and lead vocals of the group. Ross Valory. George Tickner and Prairie Prince played the bass, rhythm guitar, and drums, respectively.

With over 15 studio albums under his belt, Neal Schon was undisputedly the longstanding member of the Journey band, as members of the iconic band have come and gone.

Neal Schon Net Worth

Celebrity Net Worth reports that Neal Schon's Net Worth is estimated to be $40 million. This is attributed to his success in the music industry. Being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is also a prestigious feat for any artist that could mean more acclaim to one's name.

The band has also been touring for decades, so it is not surprising to see such a huge net worth from Neal Schon.

Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain Feud

According to Variety, Neal Schon, and Jonathan Cain, the band's current keyboardist is embroiled in a legal dispute. Recently, Schon served Cain with a cease-and-desist order when the latter performed "Don't Stop Believin'" at ex-President Donald Trump's party at the Mar-A-Lago last 2022.

Per Schon, in the documents retrieved by the publication, he insisted that while Cain is free to express his political beliefs, he should not have performed in the representation of the band at his capacity to absolve the band from representing a politician like Trump.

The band is set to embark on their 50th Anniversary tour despite the feud between the two artists.
