Singer-songwriter Ben Kweller's 16-year-old son, Dorian Zev Kweller, has died following a tragic accident, the bereaved parents confirmed.

Kweller's wife, Liz Smith Kwller, first revealed the news on her Facebook page. She disclosed that the young man died following a car accident.

The musician soon released a follow-up post on Instagram, saying that Dorian was killed on Monday night.

"He was only 16 and he was a true legend. Kindest, gentle soul, a friend to all. If you knew him, you know," he wrote Tuesday. "We'll never get over him as long as we're here on earth. Please keep his spirit alive with your memories and the music he made: @reallyzev."

Kweller also paid tribute to his son in the same post. The patriarch shared how his 16-year-old child became a true poet from the day he started speaking. He noted how Dorian had so many plans for his life and career, with his first gig scheduled to happen two weeks before his death.

The singer-songwriter said he sent him a last text message before the accident regarding the merch his son always wanted to make.

He concluded his post by expressing their gratitude for everyone's support and apologizing for being unable to respond quickly since, as of press time, the family has no clue how to deal with the disaster in their lives.

Dorian is survived by his parents and younger brother, Judah. The family is yet to confirm the details of the funeral and memorial services. Information regarding the fatal wreck also remains unknown.

Before his death, he released songs under the name Zev, and he was an aspiring musician who aimed to follow in his father's footsteps. Among the singles he dropped include "How I Am," "4th of July," "Parachute," and "SH3."
