Roger Daltrey declared that The Who would not be releasing a new album anytime soon.

The Who's fans should reportedly not expect a new album from the band years after it released its latest and most recent album, "Who," in 2019.

In an interview with NME, Daltrey was asked about the band's status in creating new music. He immediately responded and queried "what's the point?" of creating one.

"What's the point of records? We released an album four years ago [2019's "Who"], and it did nothing. It's a great album, too, but there isn't the interest out there for new music these days," he said. "People want to hear the old music. I don't know why, but that's the fact."

"Who" served as the band's first studio album in 13 years. It received generally positive reviews from critics and fans, but it did not break the records it previously held before.

It only ranked first on US Top Rock Albums by Billboard; No. 2 and 3 on US Billboard 200 and UK Albums, respectively.

According to the 79-year-old musician, the fan base of The Who is composed of fans of different ages. Still, Daltrey noted how it would be difficult for them to market the band's potential new material.

Although it still welcomes young people in its audiences, the album's music may reportedly be affected by record companies' jobs.

The Who To Offer Surprise at UK Tour

While there will be no new album from The Who anytime soon, Daltrey revealed that the band prepared something special for its fans.

Its scheduled UK tour, per the musician, would be backed by an orchestra. They previously did it during its 2019 London's Wembley Stadium show, and fans would get the chance to hear it again through The Who's upcoming "The Who With Orchestra Live at Wembley" album.

The band will release it on March 31.

Amid Daltrey's lack of interest in dropping a new material with The Who, he is said to be open to experiencing new things.

A source told The Sun that Daltrey would drive one of the locomotives during The Who's appearance at the National Transport Trust Vintage Transport Festival in May.

"When he heard they were looking for a headliner for their vintage transport rally, he offered up the band's services - but with a special request," the insider went on.

Daltrey, who is known for being a train enthusiast, will reportedly drive a steam train.
